HLA Secures Second Major Victory for ERA in ETB 338.67 Million Bank Guarantee Dispute

The Civil Adjudication Council of the Ministry of Justice decided in favor of ERA in a claim against the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) involving an unconditional bank guarantee valued at ETB 338,673,461, together with 9% annual interest accruing from 2021.

The decision represents another significant success for HLA in its ongoing representation of ERA in complex infrastructure, construction, and bank guarantee disputes.

The matter was adjudicated by the Ministry of Justice Civil Adjudication Council established pursuant to Article 2(2) of the Attorney General Establishment Proclamation No. 943/2016, as well as Article 40(1) and Article 40(2)(a) of Proclamation No. 1263/2013 and Directive No. 1008/2024.

This decision marks the second successful outcome secured by HLA on behalf of ERA in major bank guarantee disputes.
