Habesha Legal Advocates LLP Successfully Defends EPLSC in CAS Arbitration Against Mekelle 70 Enderta FC

The CAS Sole Arbitrator, Mr. Kwadjo Adjepong OBE, dismissed in full the appeal brought by Mekelle 70 Enderta FC and upheld the decision of the Ethiopian Football Federation Appeal Committee confirming the sanctions imposed by the EPLSC.

HLA, led by Dr. Yonas Girma Adimassu, Managing Partner, defended the validity of the EPLSC's financial governance framework and the procedural integrity of the disciplinary proceedings. HLA also successfully opposed the Club's applications for interim and provisional measures during the arbitration.

The CAS further ordered Mekelle 70 Enderta FC to bear the arbitration costs and to pay CHF 2,000 to the EPLSC toward its legal fees and expenses.

The decision underscores the importance of financial transparency, regulatory compliance, and effective governance in Ethiopian professional football.
